Open PhD Position CPC München
The Comprehensive Pneumology Center (CPC), a partner organization of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Hospital, the Asklepios Clinics and the Helmholtz Zentrum München invites applications for
Fulltime doctoral positions (m/f)
The newly established German Center for Lung Research (Deutsches Zentrum für Lungenforschung (DZL)) funded by the BMBF constitutes a Collaborative Research Center uniting five leading German university and non-university based lung research units into one coherent organization. It is dedicated to the translational concept: exploiting basic, diseaseoriented and patient-oriented clinical science for the development of new diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic strategies in lung diseases.
The Comprehensive Pneumology Center, a translational research center dedicated to pulmonary medicine, was founded by three partners: The Helmholtz Zentrum München – German Research Center for Environmental Health, an expert in bridging fundamental experimental research with applied medical research, the Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) with the University Hospital, one of the Top-Level-Universities in the German Excellence Initiative and the Asklepios Hospital München-Gauting one of the leading hospitals specialized on lung disease in Germany.
The Comprehensive Pneumology Center Munich is one of the five partner sites of the DZL. For the DZL we are now seeking highly qualified and motivated individuals for fulltime doctoral positions for the following topics:
- Project DZL-A: The instructive extracellular matrix and its role in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension (PI Eickelberg)
- Project DZL-B: Regulation of the Interleukin-22-Receptor in small cell lung cancer (PI Endres)
- Project DZL-C: Molecular basis of Diffuse parenchymal lung disease by ABCA3 mutations (PIs Griese, Hatz, Winter)
- Project DZL-D: The role of Ca2+ influx pathways and ion channels involved in the development of hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction (HPV) (PI Gudermann)
- Project DZL-E: Identification and functional characterization of cells attenuating the allograft rejection of lung transplants (PI Hatz)
- Project DZL-F: The specific impact of monocyte activation and their pulmonary recruitment to the development of BPD (PI Schulze)
